Mood boards & Style Tiles

We started with mood boards and refined them into style tiles reflecting their desired brand attributes of "forward thinking, smart, 'cool kids' choice, trustworthy, best in class." They wanted a blend of professional, while still fun and playful.

Pivot

A pivot came late to abandon all sea creature illustrations in the brand design — which can sometimes happen. We adjusted to dial up the refinement of brand elements, embrace a more modern bento box motif, and only include a subtle abstract wave background as the node to their original ocean-themed identity.

Our strategy centered around principles of modularity and asymmetry.
